Trenza Family Collection is based on the local Monastrell grape, which has been braided together with world acknowledged international varieties. This crafted wine with enormous strength and personality, demonstrates what intensity the region of Yecla is capable of making.
The grapes were manually harvested in small cases of 15 kilos, starting late September with the Shiraz and Garnacha Tintorera grapes followed by the Monastrell and Cabernet Sauvignon around the second week of October. Each variety was vinified individually by chilling the grapes first for 24 hours before a gentle de-stemming. Immediately after a 25% saignee was done in order to concentrate colors, aromas and flavors. The grapes were cold soaked for 4-5 days at 5ºC Before the addition of selected yeast strains. The musts were manually pumped over and pu- nched down several times daily during the 16-25 days of fermentation and maceration.Tasting Notes
Opaque purple-black color. Complex fruity aromas of blackberries, black cherries, ripe plums combined with an mixture of spice box and under- bush. On the palate the black fruits are intensified by the complimentary notes of rich chocolate, toasted oak and vanilla cappuccino. The wine has a long lingering finish.
