This is an amazing Albariño that is nothing less than thirst quenching.
With a desire to work with the Albariño grape varietal, we hope to shine light on this unknown treasure of a wine region, Ribeiras do Morrazo
"Nestled along the Atlantic coast, this region is the cradle of Albariño, a grape celebrated for its crisp, aromatic whites. Bursting with citrus and stone fruit notes, balanced by refreshing minerality, these wines capture the maritime influence of their terroir. It has been a real pleasure to work with these amazing vineyards."
Albariño 100%, Albariño is one of the world’s most celebrated white wine grapes, originating from the Atlantic vineyards of northwestern Spain. Best known from the coastal region of Rías Baixas, the grape thrives in cool maritime climates where ocean breezes, abundant rainfall, and granite-rich soils help create wines of exceptional freshness and aromatic intensity.
Albariño grapes are typically small with thick skins, allowing them to retain freshness while developing concentrated flavor. The wines are usually fermented in stainless steel to preserve their vibrant fruit character, though some producers also experiment with lees aging or oak maturation for added texture and complexity.
Tasting Notes
TASTING NOTES:
Bright pale lemon colour with youthful attractive notes of lime, green apples, peach, combined with mineral notes reminiscent of a fresh sea breeze. The palate is lively with lots of fresh fruit, crisp acidity and light salty sensation making the wine seem electric.
"Loved this; the creamy texture from sitting on the lees really brought out the flavours of the grapes as well as some delightful secondary notes. We'll balanced and fresh but with enough depth to pair delightfully with grilled chicken and herbs de province!” 5 out of 5 stars, Wine Consumer, Naked Wines - UK
“.It's a delicious Spanish Albarino, bordering on barbaric. On the nose, medium(+) intensity. Medium-bodied. Medium-high acidity and medium finish. Notes of lemon, apple, peach, apricot, and biscuit. It's superb.” 5 out of 5 stars, Wine Consumer, Naked Wines - UK
Food Pairing:
A lovely glass to drink on its own, and will also match almost anything from the sea such as shellfish, fried calamari, oven baked trout and salmon, as well as sushi.
Winemaking Notes
Winemaker: David Tofterup
The grapes were handpicked in small cases at the optimum stage of ripeness. The cases were cold stored over night before whole cluster pressing, cold settling of the musts before racking and fermentation in small stainless steel tanks at 14-16ºC. After the fermentation the wine was aged on fine lies for 4-6 months in stainless steel tanks before bottling.
The 2025 vintage is 100% Albariño It resulted in a dry wine with 12,5%vol alcohol
